My Lord, I think that even heaven is an exaggeration. People are a kind of candles and God cannot keep them burning forever. Even God can be blinded by the flames of hell. The flames of hell burn, but they do not light. I am a dog that does not bite when kicked. I believe people are born out of flowers. How else can we explain that there are so many weeds around us? Life is more relative than Einstein’s physics. When we are born, we long to stay in this world for ever but we lose this longing along the way. We are all some heroes just because we live our life. We must live our life, otherwise it will live us. 12 We are born out of two people’s love and we are asked to share it with everybody. It is not the world that is beautiful it is the people in it that make it beautiful. The fruit of love is more beautiful than love itself. We are here on earth. God is up there in Heaven. The ladder is the problem. I am a kind of God on earth. I don’t know where Saint Peter with his keys is. When a woman says ‘I love you” in a different voice, she must be pregnant. Thank God, I am not a woman, for if I were, I would still love women. When I have a little time, I work. When I have a little more time, I sleep. Whenever we fight, God is banished with stones.
Today we talk about Letters to God returned to sender, a book by Cosmin Stefan Georgescu published with our publishing house Europe Books.
Europe Books had the pleasure of interviewing the author Cosmin Stefan Georgescu to get to know him better and what are the crucial themes of his book Letters to God returned to sender. He also told us how he actually sees and interprets the dialogue with God.
Below you can find our interview. Take a seat and enjoy your reading!!!
- What are the crucial themes of your book?
The theme of the book is Divinity since God is present in both great and small things, in all that is animate or inanimate. I’ve written an anthology, I’ve picked up all the flowers both medicinal or poisonous. The hand of God is in everything, even in what is not destined for us. The problem is that I should have pulled myself together, but since I am not God, I haven’t succeed.
- If you could actually talk to God, what would be the first 3 things you would say to him?
I think I’ve actually spoken to God through this book. God is a good connoisseur of words. Otherwise I wouldn’t have been awarded the Swiss Critics’ Award, 2021. Besides, it is not me who is the recipient of this prize The title is a charade. Actually I did write to God. The thing with the franchise of the envelope, the sending of the correspondence, the receipt, the refund are earthly problems. Each reader will read with their God by their side. Because there is not only one God, just as there is not only one human. The questions I asked the Creator are my aphorisms with the question mark at the end. I await God’s answers just like Einstein did his.
- Which authors of the present and / or the past do you take as a model?
All the authors whose work can be condensed into aphorisms are my models: from the expansive Marquez to the taciturn Cioran . I do not try to have models, because a car model belongs to a series. I’d rather have my own engine that breaks down than be carried in the wake of some coryphaeus.
- How was your publishing experience?
The publishing experience at “Europe books” is fantastic. The impeccable quality of the volume, the participation in the Book Fairs. I foresee great future successes, even the Nobel if they nominate me…
It’s a mistake to write for Awards. They are the result of the unshakable belief that you will have readers.
They create, and bring about the Awards. Among them there are some critics, who, no matter how educated and rigorous may be, are readers after all…
- Are you planning to work on a new book?
New books ? Undoubtedly! And all at Europe books:
– a mountain novel with celestial and lunar inflections: “Full Moon above the Vosges”
– love as a ghost, seen in a mirror turned (upside down/inside out/distorted) by Freud: “Animus in anima”
– the novel of childhood and adolescence seen through the eyes of the adult, but projected in his soul of those times: “The Old Maiorescunians”
