Today we talk about The Holy Poet, a book by Bjørn Stuverød, published with our publishing house Europe Books.
Europe Books had the pleasure of interviewing the author Bjørn Stuverød, to get to know him better, what prompted him to the writing of his book The Holy Poet, as well as how he chose the title of his book.
Below you can find our interview. Take a seat and enjoy your reading!!!
- Was the idea for this book born at a particular moment? What was that?
It started with the Norwegian authorities stamped me as Crazy. Locked me up in a mental hospital! And take everything from me. So, when I was sitting in my cell with only a pen and a little piece of paper, I was thinking FUCK. What do I do now, so what do I do with paper and pen? So, I found out I had to start writing, even though I NEVER LIKED TO WRITE. So, what should I write? Poetry, so first I grabbed the genitals and wrote the Poems about them. My genitals are in my first book (The Great Poet). The Book is written in Norwegian language (Den Store Dikter). The book (The Great Poet) is maybe the first poetry book in Norwegian. That’s a mental hospital! which tried to stop (with help from the Norwegian authorities help) but they didn’t manage to stop The Great Poet. After that I wrote the book (The Greatest Poet). So, what came after The Greatest? of course The Holy. And almost everyone of The Holy people in history of the last thousand years are my Great Grandfathers and/or my Great Grandmother’s. Many Greats Greats Greats about 30 Greats (it’s proved in Geni, the world’s tree) So if you had to choose, what would you choose to be? a psychiatrist patient or a Holy Poet? I was thinking how difficult could it be? If my ancestors could do it, then I can too. Of course, it is not quite the same and to be a Holy Poet as to be a Holy Emperor, Holy King or a Saint (But it is a start). And I got a little help, you can find out who helped me if you read the book (The Holy Poet).
- What would you like to communicate to your reader through this work?
Awakens them in a poetic way, and get them to think.
- How did you choose the title of your book?
I have explained that in question one. The reason for the title of the book (The Holy Poet) The Old Gods, Odin osv, The Fairies and my ancestors. And I felt the urge to jump up a bit from a psychiatric patient to a Holy Poet. And I had to do something to get back my cursed farm. That the Norwegian authorities try to steal away from me. The Stuverød Farm is cursed in an unpleasant way. They will find it out soon. If you read my book n. 5 (The Cursed Poet) you can read about it. (The book is not finish yet) but my book n. 4 is finished (But it hasn’t come out yet) I am working with book n. 6 (The Poet That Not Was Like Everyone Else). My book n. 7 (The Blessed Poet) will come some day.
- How was your publishing experience?
My publishing experience? There are really nice people that have helped me. I will not tell you the name of them (That’s a secret) But I am a bit surprised why Saint Jorunn has not been interviewed yet. (She is disguised as a Nurse) and works in the same mental hospital! (Egsveien 100 Camp 4.2, 4615 Kristiansand, Norway) She is in the book (The Holy Poet) and the book is dedicated to her. 27% of my book n. 4 is a collection of poems about Saint Jorunn. I think we should introduce (Saint Jorunn’s Day) June, 1, The first summer day, the day my book came out (Saint Jorunn’s Day). The day where you can take your loved one for dinner, and read romantic poems, and write romantic poem/poems to someone you love or someone you like. (especially if noone knows you like her, a Romantic surprising Poem) (Saint Jorunn, The Silent) is also called (Sunshine) She shines like the sun.
- Are you working on a new writing project you can tell us about?
Well, I have already answered that. I am working with the books (The Cursed Poet n. 5) and (The Blessed Poet n. 7) Well, the title is finished on book n. 7. and book n. 6 (The Poet That Not Was Like Everyone Else) is about 30% finished or more. It might have been confusing about which book got which number, but the number on the books is approximately correct.
