Today we talk about Unrelenting Little Efforts, a book by Joseph P. Hayes, published with our publishing house Europe Books.
Europe Books had the pleasure of interviewing the author Joseph P. Hayes, to get to know him better, what prompted him to the writing of his book Unrelenting Little Efforts, as well as what are the crucial points of the method he describes in his book.
Below you can find our interview. Take a seat and enjoy your reading!!!
- Where did you find the inspiration to write your book?
As a young person I read many self- help books and I found many techniques that made life easier and led to small daily successes. I had wander lust and I was always chasing a new dream. This is not really the best way to go through life, I should have focused on one single objective, and I would have been much more successful. Getting involved in many different occupations did give me one advantage. I learned to solve problems quickly, because in every business you hit problems and you hit a lot more when you keep changing careers. I also had a desire to help other people I worked with. I wanted to help them solve their problems, especially younger people. This was very rewarding, and it led me to on a mission to train younger inexperienced people. I realized that if I could write a book with the techniques and ideas, I had used to help young people become more successful, I could reach a much larger audience. Thus “Unrelenting Little Efforts” was born.
- What would you like to hear from your readers?
I am now involved as an independent stock trader, and I miss training and helping young people. All people have far more potential than they realize. When you show someone how to make progress in their career or life, they are so grateful. Helping people discover their innate powers is more rewarding to me than you can imagine. I have had people that I trained tell me that I changed their life, the truth is all I did was help them unleash the power within themselves. I believe my book will help people do more, be more, and have more, and knowing that I helped will give me joy.
- What are the crucial points of the method you described in your book?
Once a person is introduced to the best strategy for accomplishing something in their life, it needs to become an automatic unthinking response, something they do on a daily basis. Repetition, as I mention in my book, is the mother of learning, skill, and habit. If you know or are introduced to a successful technique that works for you, repetition can make it a permanent fixture in your life. Taking simple baby steps over and over can lock in a complicated skill and make it part of a person’s life. That’s how we all learned to read.
- Is there a book you are particularly attached to and that has taught you something?
As a young person in the Marine Corps, I was not much of a reader. I came across a book called “Think and Grow Rich”. That sounded like a good idea to me, so I bought the book. That book did more than make me rich, it turned me into a reader. I have no idea about how many books I’ve read, mostly self-help books, but I learned things that have helped me, and I passed those ideas on to others. So many of the books helped me that I can not identify one book in particular.
- Are you working on a new writing project?
Yes, I am working on a book about habits, and I am trying to write it in a style that I don’t think has ever been attempted before. If I can show people a way to use habit formation as a technique to simplify and enhance their life, I think people will love it. Life is such a wonderful miracle, and with positive habits we can live it to the full.
