Today we talk about From Victim to Victor, a book by Tanya Moore Fleiser published with our publishing house Europe Books.
Europe Books had the pleasure of interviewing the author Tanya Moore Fleiser, to get to know her better, what prompted her to the writing of her personal story in her book From Victim to Victor, as well as what she would like to hear from her readers.
Below you can find our interview. Take a seat and enjoy your reading!!!
- When did you decide to write your personal story?
The truth is I never really did😁 20 years ago, out of nowhere I had a dream. All I saw in the dream was a book titled “From Victim to Victor’; I turned the book over to see the author…It was me. 2 nights later I had the same dream. Two weeks later a dear friend studying journalism asked me, also out of the blue, “One day when God is using you in ministry, can I please write your life story.” I got goosebumps everywhere. At the time I was addicted to different substances, mostly pain medication, I also most certainly never saw myself as an author or with any ability to write. It did however give me some kind of hope. Hope that all the pain and trauma I had endured had not been in vain…that one day it would help others. Me writing a book was reconfirmed many times over the years…As you will read in my book. Life after that? To put it mildly addiction, unresolved trauma and so much more, enabled me to truly taste hell on earth before miraculous divine intervention I was set free and very miraculously offered the publishing contract through Europe books.
- What particularly significant experiences in your life find expression in your book?
Wow…A LOT😁 Let’s start with my desire to break the horrible awkward silence that hangs around abuse…especially sexual. Repeatedly sexually abused as a child, like ALL who are, sets a horrific foundation. Along with it demonic transference. There is so much sexual abuse because it Satan’s strongest weapon. In becoming one flesh there is immediate transference of these entities. Entities that wreak havoc. That is just the spiritual side, then there is all the rest. Stuff that doesn’t just go away if you ignore it or try and numb it. The loss of my 2 stillborn children, my best friend and sister, my parents. Divorce, prison, rehabs and institutions….The only places substance to addiction leads to and yes, death of myself too. Time I spent on the other side with God not wanting to return. It also most certainly covers the deep, dark places that serious depression can take you. But ultimately, I believe I share true relationship with Jesus. Not self righteous religion but amazing agape love and grace. Finally, my greatest hope and prayer is that through my journey and sharing of pretty intense spiritual experiences…All doubts people have of God’s existence, the spiritual realm and where Jesus fits in will be shattered.
- What would you like to hear from your readers?
I believe and have been set free😁 Mmmm…I suppose. Goodness, I have tears streaming down my cheeks as I write this. Thank you, it was not in vain. I would love to hear that through the many tools I share throughout the book that victims have found, hope, light and freedom. I would like to hear from some of the self righteous, “Wow, you definitely opened my eyes to just how big Jesus is,” That it helps them to reach out more to the broken, for there are many. From the atheists, ‘Thank you for meaning and purpose, my life now is so full.’ The agnostics, “You definitely made me relook things and man oh man, I’m so glad I did’. These are the responses I would love. In a perfect world I’m certain they are what I would get. This world is FAR from perfect…it’s a mess, so honestly, whatever comes will be perfect because I know I’ve done what I needed to do.
- What sensations did you feel by ‘reading’ your life on the pages of your book?
Oh boy…You’ve got the tears running again 😉 Before I answer that I would like to cover the emotions I felt whilst writing it. My husband would be sitting quietly on the couch whilst I poured my heart onto the pages. Within a single sitting of writing, he would witness me giggling, then battling to breathe as I experienced intense panic attacks then sobbing my heart out. Gut wrenching sobs that had me lying in a fetal position on the ground. I literally relived each moment. Honestly, without my awesome, incredible editor Lynn Cole I don’t think I would have got through it. Reading the completed work. Now as a published author😁I don’t think there are words in any language to describe the flood of many emotions. I guess I’m really proud at how far I’ve come, yet at the same time deeply humbled because I could never have done any of it without the supernatural strength that comes from God. Honestly it often felt like I was reading someone else’s story…a really good story about this poor woman than somehow just kept rising, it had me gripped.
- Are you planning to write more books?
As you will read in my book…According to Drs each day I have is a blessing so who knows. Does the diagnosis stop me from dreaming, setting goals and having huge vision? Heck no! I have big plans. As long as I have breath, I will do anything and everything I can to help others in any which way I can and yeah, I did think there would only ever be one book, but recently more and more I am feeling there may very well be more. “From Victim to Victor’ is not your typical self help book, filed with endless lecturing on how to fix your life. It’s just my story shared, as and how it happened. My prayer for each reader is that the Holy spirit will give them the ears, eyes and heart to receive whatever it is He wants them to receive through my journey. So, yes there may be future books that go into more depth, maybe even a daily devotion?
Europe Books thanks the author Tanya Moore Fleiser once again for taking the time and answering our questions. We are really pleased to have walked alongside her on the editorial path that led to the publication of her book From Victim to Victor. We wish her the best of luck for her future works.
To you, my dear reader, may this book be a source of inspiration and encouragement, a precious support to find that hope, that light and that freedom that all of us, without exception, deserve in this world. We must always look for them and do everything to never give them up; this in the same way the author hopes too, a woman who, through many difficulties and strong suffering experiences, has always looked for the same light, hope and freedom and fought hard not to lose them!
So, my dear reader, all I have to say is to enjoy this very inspirational reading!
Your Editor!
