Today we talk about ETHNIDNATISM: THE ROAD TO SPIRITUALITY, a book by Aykhan AtaSak published with our publishing house Europe Books.
Europe Books had the pleasure of interviewing the author Aykhan AtaSak to get to know him better, where and when he found the inspiration to write his book ETHNIDNATISM: THE ROAD TO SPIRITUALITY, as well as how he came up with the idea of creating its own “Philosophy”.
Below you can find our interview. Take a seat and enjoy your reading!!!
- Where and when did you find the inspiration to write your book?
Since my childhood, I’ve held a deep fascination for diverse subjects such as cultures, history, archaeology, evolution, mysticism, and spirituality. My birthplace, Azerbaijan, a multicultural country, provided a unique backdrop for understanding these concepts. Seeing different nationalities, ethnic groups, and religions coexisting influenced me like a universal experience. Undoubtedly, the convergence of East and West within a single geographical region played a pivotal role in shaping these perspectives. If you seek inspiration, I can show you the city of Mingachevir, the city where I was born and raised, as the hub of world ethnidnatism, along with the stories my grandmother told me in my childhood. I started thinking about evolution when I was six. When I was seven, I suggested the idea of bringing people together under one concept, mostly from a religious point of view. Because I was just a kid, no one really paid attention to what I said. But I kept on researching; I always got used to thinking in new ways. So, when I was twenty-two, I finally put together what I had learned into a hypothesis. It was not an inspiration, but more like the result of my lifelong interest and my lifestyle.
- What is the message you want to convey to your readers?
The very first message I want to convey to my readers is that they should comfortably set aside all the fears they harbor about humanity. Our frozen bodies will heat under the sun of Ethnidnatism. All the various human, national, ideological, ethnic, and sociological values we possess will no longer disappear. Seeing the world filled with wars, ideologies competing with each other, and hatred is now a thing of the past. Ethnidnatism is paving the way for humanity into a new era. The philosophy itself serves as a system, addressing all these problems. You can put an end to fears about our regression because Ethnidnatism is not just a philosophy; it marks the beginning of a much larger program of evolution. Just read, and with every page you read, think twice about the time you spend reading it. Developing oneself through reading many books is not just about finishing a book quickly; it’s about analyzing the book you read and expanding your thoughts through it. In this book, which is undoubtedly the foundation of Ethnidnatism, you will undoubtedly find a treasure that belongs to yourself.
- How did you come up with the idea of creating your own “Philosophy”?
Three emotional factors play a role in creating this philosophy: curiosity, care, and creativity. Curiosity led me to explore and direct my focus toward discovery. Care taught me how to preserve what I have learned. Creativity showed me how to bring together all the qualities I possess. All the ideologies, philosophies, and national and mass perspectives I read claimed to possess the absolute truth. Each worldview saw the sole path to peace in everyone embracing the convictions it held. Naturally, not everyone agreed with this notion because no one wanted to change their understanding. If they did, it would be perceived as an injustice against the values they held. In short, global standardization under any ideology is not truly salvation for humanity. I analyzed and contemplated all of this. Instead of unleashing a war of ideologies, I chose to unite all our convictions. I approached ethnidnatism from a dualistic perspective. It had to be a philosophy where individuals of various beings—be they religious, atheist, poor, wealthy, young, old, with diverse national and ethnic backgrounds, low-educated, highly-educated, or people of various professions—should not only find benefit but also be able to come together. This is how I introduced the concept of “ethnidna.” It aimed to unite people without erasing the values they held, meaning it wouldn’t standardize them.
- How did your passion for writing started?
My initial interest in Ethnidnatism emerged on my way from work to home. In 2019, I was working as an analytical architect in one of the state offices in Baku. This position was quite good for a talented young graduate like me. However, I never felt a sense of belonging there. Every day, I commuted by metro and walked home from the station. Ideas related to ethnidnatic architecture were brewing in my mind. It was in one of those days that Ethnidnatism was born out of ethnidnatic architecture. Later, I realized that it wasn’t just on the level of architecture but also on a broader philosophical scale. Every night after coming home from work, I started writing about Ethnidnatism on my computer. As I wrote, the philosophy expanded on its own, like opening up to new horizons in the sea. Because I was aware of the potential of the idea in my hands, I decided to quit my job. I worked as a freelancer, allowing me more time to focus on my book. Subsequently, I completed my first book in the Azerbaijani language in fifteen months. In 2021, I published my first book in Baku.
- Are you working on a new writing project, you can tell us about?
In the sea, water may diminish, and on the shore, sand may deplete, but theories and ideas about Ethnidnatism are inexhaustible. This perspective is so deep and vast that it is impossible to fully capture Ethnidnatism in writing because it’s an ever-evolving concept. That’s why I am currently diligently working on “Ethnidnatism 2.” The first book serves as a foundation, not revealing the full breadth of ideas comprehensively. However, in the second book, Ethnidnatism reaches a more cosmic and universal level. Therefore, it is essential to grasp the first book well. I am confident and hopeful that in the future, we will witness Ethnidnatism not only as a philosophical and theoretical concept but also as substantiated at the scientific level. Because within Ethnidnatism, there are hundreds of theories awaiting validation. In an era where humanity is becoming more diverse and looking at the world from various perspectives, Ethnidnatism will be the greatest guide for them.
