The Gardener in the moon has no name; he was born out of silence. There’s a legend on earth regarding him, like the little Prince, he came from a Planet, but he never feels nostalgic to return. He loves the moon, the people in the earth, and with compassion he keeps the suffering hearts in a cave, until they smile again. Silence is the cure. He says that silence awakens our infinite sense of Love. But silence not only means without noise, or voices, there is a wonderful place to be discovered when the heart is quiet. In there, our souls have wings, like the angels. We can feel life is Sacred and Divine. The Silence of the Heart, says the Gardener, is available for those courageous hearts that have faith in humanity; they resemble the Face of our Sweet Lord whenever disgrace touches someone. And offer their quiet hands to embrace.
Today we talk about Gardener in the moon, a book by Blanca Hefferan published with our publishing house Europe Books.
Europe Books had the pleasure of interviewing the author, Blanca Hefferan, to get to know her better, where she found the inspiration to write her book Gardener in the moon, as well as what fascinates her about Mysticism.
Below you can find our interview. Take a seat and enjoy your reading!!!
- Where did you find the inspiration to write your story?
While I was attending a retreat in Seattle, I saw a beautiful moon one night. The place I was staying is an old house, full of magic with a small lake, gorgeous trees, and flowers and starry nights. The idea of a gardener in the moon stayed with me for a couple of years, until I was ready to hear the mystery of poetry whispering to me the words to say. I think that creativity expresses itself whenever my soul is full of wonder, awe, grief, doubts, gratitude and love. A need to connect with something full of sacredness and imagination.
- What do you want to communicate to readers in this work?
We are in this life to share our dreams, our inner ways of viewing and feeling life. The way of the heart is unique for each one. Art is an expression of the soul. Each one, in our inner experiences and ways of living, are to sense these words. I just want to contribute to the beauty and love in this life.
- What fascinates you about Mysticism?
Mysticism to me is to see the interrelations in all things, feel my heart full of compassion for all sentient beings, to have a communion with the sacred and the human face of life. To be One.
- What was the first book you read and what did it teach you?
One of the first books in spirituality that I read is “Anam Cara” by John O’Donohue. The book opened my senses, by heart, to see the sacred inside me and in others.
- Can you tell us more about your next literary work?
I am currently working on a poetry book in Spanish, a Children’s book and a novel.
