Two men, both seriously ill, were staying in the same room of a hospital. One of them was allowed to sit on the bed for one hour each afternoon to help drain fluids from his lungs. His bed was next to the only window in the room. The other man had to stay all the time in his bed lying on his back. Both men talked for hours about their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, military service, their vacations, etc. And every afternoon, the man who could sit in the bed near the window described the things that he could see from there to his roommate. Meanwhile, the man on the other bed started to live in this brief one hour as if his world was enlarged reliving all the activity and colour of the outside world. From the window he portrayed with descriptive words a beautiful lake, swans, people swimming and children playing with their small paper boats. Young lovers walked embraced among flowers of all colours of the rainbow. Old big trees adorned the landscape and from there anyone could enjoy the view of the city in the horizon. As the man in the window described all this with exquisite detail, the man in the other bed could close his eyes and imagine such picturesque scenes.
Today we talk about STORIES WITH SOUL – Connecting with the Light within our Hearts, a book by Rosario Gómez A. published with our publishing house Europe Books.
Europe Books had the pleasure of interviewing the author, Rosario Gómez A., to get to know her better, if there was a particular moment that led her to the writing of her book STORIES WITH SOUL – Connecting with the Light within our Hearts, as well as what is her definition of “Love”.
Below you can find our interview. Take a seat and enjoy your reading!!!
- Is there a particular moment in your life that led you to the writing of your book? What was it?
Yes, I was going through a difficult and sad family moment, and I felt the urge to sit down and write. I also had many spiritual concerns and intended to write about something that would make us reflect, leave us something universal and for all ages. Something from which everyone could take something for their lives and benefit from those stories. These are stories and tales that I collected over the years because they made a lot of sense to me.
- What would you like to hear from your readers?
That it has helped them apply it to their lives, that it has served to awaken them and warm their hearts. That it has inspired them in their lives. That the stories they find in this book convey a valuable lesson that we can apply both in our own lives and share with our friends and loved ones. “Stories with Soul” will inspire and connect those who approach its stories with an open heart and are willing to rise beyond any separation, border, and distance.
- How would you define “Love”?
LOVE is a tremendous key that should move us in life… it’s a short word but loaded with meaning! Without LOVE… we are nothing, it’s something very necessary for our lives… it’s the fuel that moves us and heals us… The forms of LOVE are innumerable and very diverse, and here, in these stories, you will encounter many of them. Everything that LOVE comes to teach us is universal because LOVE crosses borders and speaks all languages; it is inclusive, it is the word of God. This is a collection of “Stories with Soul” to enjoy, share, and learn from this very short word, so easy to pronounce and so rewarding to live… which is: “LOVE.”
- What are the books you are particularly attached to and that have taught you something?
All books that have simple spiritual teachings. For example, The Little Prince! “The Prophet” by Khalil Gibran, “Dancing in the Light” by Shirley MacLaine, “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho, “Ami” series by Enrique Barrios, “The Knight in Rusty Armor” by Robert Fisher, “The Celestine Prophecy” series by James Redfield, “Dear and Glorious Physician” by Taylor Caldwell, “Mutant Message Down Under” by Marlo Morgan, “Jonathan Livingston Seagull” by Richard Bach, “Siddhartha” by Herman Hesse, “You Can Heal Your Life” by Louise Hay.
- Are you working on a new writing project you can tell us about?
Yes, after “Stories with Soul,” I have written “Stories with Soul II, III, IV, V, VI, and recently “Stories with Soul VII,” which is arriving at bookstores in Chile these days. All in the same vein: short but profound stories that leave us with a teaching. Books that are in Chile, Spain, Latin America, Latvia, Poland, Turkey, and Ukraine. And now I’m happy to enter the world of Europe and beyond.
