Today we talk about The Elements: New Beginnings, a book by Emilis Navickas published with our publishing house Europe Books.
Europe Books had the pleasure of interviewing the author Emilis Navickas to get to know him better, as well as what he would like to hear from his readers about his book The Elements: New Beginnings.
Below you can find our interview. Take a seat and enjoy your reading!!!
- Where did you find the inspiration to write this story?
I get new ideas from listening to music and watching some tv series that give me new ideas for the book series. I get new ideas pretty much every day when I write a chapter each morning moments after waking up, I tend to write daily when I don’t have school and I am on holiday or vacation, but when I have school, I tend to write each morning during the weekends. I listen to music during my writing from such composers as Adam Young/Owl city, Borrtex, Christoffer Franzen, and Kyle Preston. Their music just gives me inspiration to keep on writing every day, and their music is from where I get new and creative ideas for my plots and character arcs. I also write a lot because I have a dream of one day making a TV series based on my book series called the Elements; at first I had an idea to start a comic book series that would later turn into a TV series back in 2017, but I realized that I was an awful artist, so in 2020 March 6th I wrote my first 3 chapters of the Elements and posted them on Wattpad. That is pretty much how my writer journey started, and I still have high hopes that I will succeed in my dream of making a tv series called the Elements.
- What would you like to hear from your readers?
One of the things that I would like to hear from my readers would obviously be their opinions nod their thoughts on the characters because I have been working with them since 2017 even if it was only sketches. I would also like to hear what caught their attention in my book because this book is my first book in the series and I had so many events throughout the 1st book that I can’t even remember now and that was just the first book. Of course, I enjoy getting positive feedback about my book and since not many people have read it yet, I can’t really talk to anyone about my first book. I believe this goes without saying that I would like to know who is their favorite character and why is that. I also would like to know their favorite moment from the book because in my future books there will be a lot of them. With that said, I don’t think that there is anything else that I would like to know from them because they have chosen my book for one reason or the other, so that is pretty good enough for me. Of course, I will always be interested in hearing their own alternative versions of the story when more of my books come out.
- How would you describe your writing style?
All, I can say about my writing is that it is unpredictable and wild like a fire, sometimes I can write for entire weeks even months, there was one time when I was writing my 5th and 6th book without a break and that made around 55 days of writing which was a lot. For a couple of months, I couldn’t get back on my feet as a writer after finishing my 6th book, but luckily back in 2021, April, I made a major comeback in writing with my 7th book The Elements: Gaia’s return, it was a normal length book for that was somewhere beyond 20 chapters. Most of my books now are in between of 20 chapters or more and are a bit shorter in word count because back at the beginning of 2021, I had a lot of creative energy that I used up in my writing. After I finished my 7th book I took a few days off maybe a week, and then I started writing my 8th book which was very different from the 1st one, but was also similar. My writing is quite simple in my future books 200 words of monologue and 800 words of dialogue.
- How was your publishing experience?
The publishing of my first book has gone smoothly as expected, everything turned out fine in the end, there is nothing too much to it, everything went as expected so I can’t really complain. Everything was according to the plan mentioned in the contract and my publishing experience was alright. There isn’t much that I can comment on now that the book is published.
- Are you working on a new writing project, you can tell us about?
Well, I guess I can’t tell much because there would be some spoilers, but I can say that about a month ago, I finished my book series the Elements with my 10th book and started a new series called the Futurist. I don’t exactly have a clear idea of what The Futurist is about, but I am figuring it out as I am writing my first book in the series called The Futurist: The Overfield reunion, if you have read my 1st book The Elements: New beginnings you can already see that the name does imply that it is connected to the Elements and The Futurist is like connected to the Elements in regards of the plot elements and its history. Writing the Elements was a lot of fun, but like every good story it must end, but not to be all sad about ending my first book series I started another one and that is where the Futurist comes in. The Futurist takes action in 2055 and it is the new generation of Team Elements, trying to save the timeline and the Universe as the timeline becomes more and more unstable because of what Gaia did in the 9th book. So, in short, I am done with the Elements and, as I am writing this answer today, I have written the 7th chapter of my new book series the Futurist and also of the book, The Futurist: The Overfield reunion.
