Today we talk about The Gateway To Personal Transformation (Unleash Yourself), a book by Chidozie Charles Nnaji published with our publishing house Europe Books.
Europe Books had the pleasure of interviewing the author Chidozie Charles Nnaji to get to know him better, what was the moment that led him to the writing of his book The Gateway To Personal Transformation (Unleash Yourself), as well as a briefly description of the guiding principles he wrote about in his book.
Below you can find our interview. Take a seat and enjoy your reading!!!
- Is there a particular moment in your life that led you to the writing of your book? What was it?
It was not a specific or particular situation that led to this book. However, this was born out of a series of circumstances both in my own life and those I have observed in other people. Having had to deal with very difficult situations in my life, I learnt to step out as a spectator to observe people and how they live or respond to situations. Sadly, it eventually became obvious to me that most people are like amateur astronauts stranded on a distant planet. They know they need to do something about their lives, but they are under the illusion that the change they so much desire will be magically delivered to them someday in the never to be future. I don’t mean to judge anyone but I have seen people whose marriages could be much better if only they would manage their temper of tongues better, but they keep hoping against hope that the situation will just automatically improve without their tenacious efforts. I have seen others who can have a healthier life if they would be disciplined enough to stop some risky behaviours, but they just carry on as usual, hoping for a miracle. Miracles will not happen when it is in the power of the human person to exert their creative power. In fact, surprising miracles happens when people are determined to enforce a change in their own lives.
- What would you like to hear from your readers?
The average person lives far beneath their potential. While many feel limited by circumstances that seem beyond their control, others feel constrained by personal shortcomings and bad habits. It has been proven time and time again that people can become a better version of themselves only if they are shown how. I would like to see readers apply the principles espoused in this book to improve their personal qualities and rise above their limitations. I would like to hear stories of readers being transformed just like a caterpillar emerging from its cocoon as a butterfly – totally emancipated from the prison of a lower form of life.
- Could you briefly describe the guiding principles you write about in your book?
This book stemmed out of on my belief that every human being was created with great potentials and also has the innate capacity for unlimited goodness. However, the vast deposit of goodness and capacity within the individual must be mined diligently like gold is extracted from the heart of the earth. Simply expressed, I believe that people can change if they want it badly enough. What I have found lacking in most people is the realization that they can be better and if they set their minds to it, they could be lifted from the quagmire of mediocrity and personal failures to the higher ground of character stability. A powerful thought that has been clearly enunciated in this book and which I would like readers to take particular note of is that “your world will assume the size of your mind”. This book is not necessarily about making money or succeeding in business for all of that would amount to nothing if the individual is deficit in contentment, peace of mind and an excellent personality.
- Is there a book you are particularly attached to and that has taught you something?
I have read numerous books, all of which have made very remarkable impressions on me. However, the fundamental principles advanced throughout this book are anchored very firmly in the Holy Bible, a book I have found extremely and immensely helpful at every juncture of my life. Strangely, after this book had gone to the press, I stumbled into and bought an excellent book which I devoured like a delicious meal and I was stunned to find that it had a striking resemblance to this book. The name of the book is “The Obstacle Is The Way” by Ryan Holiday. I felt like we had compared some notes and shared ideas in that vast space where minds and thoughts are seamlessly exchanged.
- Are you working on a new writing project you can tell us about?
I haven’t started working on any new one yet but I have the titles ready. As soon as I get the chance, I hope to start working one titled “The Power Of Choice”. In this book, I hope to argue and also show by citing examples that people become what they choose. Choice here can be active or passive because by not choosing to become, you have chosen not to become. I intend to urge people to make a definite choice about everything that concerns them. This is what it means to take responsibility for one’s life!
