Today we talk about To My Dear Child, a book by Apollonia and Veronica Blumauer published with our publishing house Europe Books.
Europe Books had the pleasure of interviewing the authors, Apollonia and Veronica Blumauer, to get to know them better, the moment that prompted them to the writing of their book To My Dear Child, as well as the message they want to communicate to their readers.
Below you can find our interview. Take a seat and enjoy your reading!!!
- What is the moment that brought you to the writing of your book?
Through no fault of my own, Veronica had an extremely difficult childhood, the kind that no child should have. Even her youth is not much better. We always forgot about her problems by reading good books and I wanted to buy her books with quotes too, but I couldn’t find any I like. When I was a child, all of us children had memory books in which we wrote and drew something nice for each other, and I wanted Veronica to have a memory book from me. Since I no longer go to the service, many people have told me that I am no longer interested in anyone except Veronika, and it is not true, so with the book I try to help other parents to establish good relationships with their children, as Veronica and I have and we created it through reading good books. We have Veronica’s drawings hanging all over the apartment, they express her positive energy, which we would like to pass on to the readers as well. I also think that it is good to encourage children and young people who enjoy drawing to do so.
- What are the crucial themes of your book?
Life is more and more complicated and our happiness and success in life depends a lot on whether we make the right decisions in critical moments in life. The book contains quite a few quotes that can help us with this and are easy to understand. Our happiness and success also depend on whether we go through life with the awareness that someone loves us and wishes us the best or not. The book also contains many good wishes for the child, we parents are certainly the best suited to give the child love and to stand by his side with good wishes.
- What is the message you want to communicate to your readers?
When people want to establish good relationships with each other, we often talk only about current problems. We have to arrange our lives in such a way that we have time to talk about everything that interests us and our communicator. Quotes are a suitable starting point for such conversations and an opportunity for parents to tell their children about their life experiences, which are certainly important, especially because children often have a life similar to that of their parents in many ways and most of them certainly have a similar genetic structure.
- Which authors of the present and / or the past do you take as a model?
When I was sixteen years old, my father gave me the book Madame Curie, written by her daughter Eve, with the wish that it would have as much influence on me as possible. He succeeded, the book really impressed me a lot, and even later I was not a witness to a beautiful family life like this family had, despite the fact that life was not kind to them either. Veronica also got the same book when she was sixteen, she wanted it in English and it impressed her too. Her main models are astronauts, especially Samantha Cristoforetti, Neil Armstrong, Matthias Maurer and Sunita Williams. She is also extremely impressed with the scientists who put together Wikipedia and write for National Geographic.
- Are you working on a new writing project you can tell us about?
The book To My Dear Child In Loving Memory is the first of five books that have already been finished. The others are To My Dear Mother In Loving Memory, To My Dear Father In Loving Memory, To My Dear Love In Loving Memory and To My Dear Friend In Loving Memory. They are similar and have the same meaning. If the book To My Dear Child In Loving Memory is well received by bookstores and readers, I am convinced that Europe Books will also publish the rest of them. I still program with Microsoft products more than I create books, and I still find in Microsoft products everything that I think users need. Since I wrote many manuals as part of my job, Veronika and I also started writing manuals for using Microsoft products, but we are at the beginning. These books will not have many business examples as manuals usually have, the first one, which is already finished, is about the good music and cats, and in the others will be about something similar. So they will also be suitable for children, for whom it is important to learn such skills as soon as possible.
Europe Books thanks the authors, Apollonia and Veronica Blumauer, once again for taking the time and answering our questions. We are really pleased to have walked alongside them on the editorial path that led to the publication of their book To My Dear Child. We wish them the best of luck for their future works.
To you, my readers, may this book let you reflect on how important it is to establish good relationships between people, trying to dialogue about everything that interests each other, sharing what makes us feel good and not just talking about current problems. This is especially true in the relationship between parents and children with a view to building a sincere, open and long lasting strong relationship.
So, my dear reader, all I have to say is to enjoy your reading!
