Today we talk about Ode to the earth. I saw, a book by Sylvia Limea published with our publishing house Europe Books.
Europe Books had the pleasure of interviewing the author Sylvia Limea to get to know her better, her special habits while writing, but mostly her genuine and deep love for Mother Heart which became a source of inspiration that led her to writing of her book Ode to the earth. I saw.
Below you can find our interview. Take a seat and enjoy your reading!!!
- What is the main message you want to send out with your book?
The main message is for years we have forgotten the importance of respect. All kinds of respect, for each other, for animals, for nature…As human beings, we like to take it all for granted that we possess everything and ask for more and more. And then one day, we lose control because of a pandemic and we learn to understand how precious life is and that instead of control we must learn to enjoy what makes us different. We should be able to see love within us, be able to see it everywhere. The notion of love goes hand in hand with respect. Let’s not confuse it with that notion of possession, which goes hand to hand with control. “Ode to the earth I saw” is a work of art. I offer readers an authentic book made from my heart. For their heart. To touch them, all, deeply, without distinction.
- What particularly significant experiences in your life find expression in your ode?
The love I have for the beauty of Mother Earth, this is one of the significant experience in my life that find expression in my ode. I was born on a beautiful island and from a young age, I spent time exploring the planet in my world atlas. I subsequently studied geography and now with my family we travel the world. I have visited more than fifty countries and still, I am always surprised to discover the richness of our planet. I would like future generations to be able to benefit from it as well. And also the love I have for others. A love that’s allowed me to receive support from friends around the world to translate my ode (in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Korean, Chinese, Swahili, Haitian Kreyol, Arabic and Norwegian), so any readers may access the book in any all these languages. Isn’t it unique to find ten languages in one book? Isn’t it amazing?
- What is to be done in 2021, to make our planet a better place ?
I would like to say we have to understand that after so many centuries of human presence on the Earth, “war does not create peace”. It creates chaos and fear. It’s time to bring it to an end. Our planet needs rest. I love the teaching of Zarathustra: “good thoughts, good words, good deeds.” All positive change starts within us, when we change in a positive way, the world around us changes and so on. Love builds more than we could ever imagine, let’s give it a try. We can all contribute to build a beautiful world, we have to understand the importance of our inner selves and it is so precious, for me it’s important than everyone find peace within our inner world so we can bring it in the outside world. I believe that we should sometimes – maybe often – be able to see the world to the eyes of children, with their innocence, with the taste of discover the true beauty of our planet.
- Do you have any special habits while writing?
This question makes me smile, you know when I write I like to feel the pen slips on the paper, so I always have notebooks and pens lying around the house because I often write several manuscripts at the same time. And only when a manuscript is finished, I type it on my laptop. The most beautiful thing is that I barely put my pen on the sheet to write that it spins by itself, and as I write it is like movies passing through my head, it’s just magic and I love that. I don’t wait for my imagination, I think my imagination is waiting for me. When a situation, which others could call negative, happens to me, I always can find an inspiration to create a new story, I just consider it as an opportunity to benefit everyone instead of perceiving it negatively. This way of thinking contributes to feel stronger and be more resilient.
- Are you working on new projects that you can tell us about?
Yes, I am always working on something new, I have started a series of books for young adults. I have six completed manuscripts, I also started a series of children’s books with a surprising little character full of cleverness, I have nineteen finished manuscripts. I have also finished writing other manuscripts. The peculiarity of my work is that it always leads readers to travel in all kinds of ways. Writing is more than a passion, it’s really who I am, not a day goes by that I don’t nurture it. I write also songs. I can sing them under the shower, which it’s pretty good. For my children, at least! I also started writing an opera. I like to redefine myself and put new challenges in my life. When I talk to strangers in the street, even for five minutes, I always encourage them to find their passion. It’s the most beautiful gift you can have to fulfil your life.
