It was the year 1969, the year that the first human being had landed on the moon. During the course of the year a new magic box called the television became a feature in our house, so we were able to see the landing of the moon on air. The magic box that showed black and white images on the screen kept the entire family glued to the screen, I was only allowed to watch a show called Carosello and after that off to bed I had to go. That year, my father decided to sell his Lambretta scooter and buy a car. How many wonderful memories of the three of us on that mythical Lambretta!!! We used to go every- 26 where with it, and when we used to go to the sea side my father made me stand in front of him, between him and the handle bars holding a large bag filled with food, how we kept everything in it God alone knows? My father bought a car, a Fiat Topolino, with a sunroof, “inevitable,” said my dad. The family was expanding and we couldn’t all fit on the Lambretta being a scooter. Everyone was very excited for the new family member who was about to arrive. On Monday, the 3rd of February 1969: it was snowing. My mother wasn’t feeling well. So my dad told me to stay at home with my grandmother because he had to go with my mother to the hospital in Gorizia. I knew it was time, my brother was arriving. A few hours later my father came home hooting the horn of his car like a mad man, he came inside the house and told us that Andrea was born. We all got into the car and went to the hospital, when my brother was born he was not good looking, but as he grew up he became better good looking than me. Andrea grew up a good and kind person, always polite and helpful, the opposite to what I was. All those who know Andrea cannot but love him, he is true goodness in person. I wanted to be a bit like him but growing up that was not the case… instead he also wanted to be a bit like me…, instead nature thought differently and made us completely different, and in all these years, I cannot ever recall arguing or fighting with him. I’m a very lucky sister to have a brother like him. As Alex had anticipated it to me, since the birth of Andrea, I have not seen him again. Only a few years later, I would understand why I could not see him anymore. In my moments of sadness, I could feel a gentle breeze of fresh air blowing across my face. I knew then that although I could not see him, he was present. And that he had never gone away.
Today we talk about The Journey into the Unknown. The incredible story of my life, a book by Orietta Bosch published with our publishing house Europe Books.
Europe Books had the pleasure of interviewing the author Orietta Bosch to get to know her better and what has motivated her to write about her personal story in her book The Journey into the Unknown. The incredible story of my life.
Below you can find our interview. Take a seat and enjoy your reading!!!
- When did you decide to write about your personal story?
I decided to write after the death of my son, for 4 years I was seeing him, he left me a message of hope to send to the world.
- What would you like to hear from your readers?
I would like them to learn to repeat life and to love each other more, no matter if they believe it is important and that they reflect on the meaning of life.
- What advice would you give to avoid being overwhelmed by the evil, today in 2021?
In the book I wrote that in recent years there will be a war between good and evil and we will be the pawns of this war, I ask people not to make war with each other but to unite, to love each other not to destroy each other.
- What sensations did you feel by ‘reading’ your life on the pages of your book?
Feelings of pain and joy because I have learned that death does not exist and life always has a meaning.
- Are you working on a new novel?
I wrote 4 other novels but only in Italian, they are all different from each other but the final message is always to love life and never give up
